This pretty SEDALIA was found in the Osage River in Osage Co Missouri and comes with a Roy Motley Certificate of Authenticity. Roy calls this point a Sedalia, but I think it might have been a typo or template error. It exhibits all the traits of an earlier point type and is also ground lightly on the base and sides. It may even be a preform for an early side notch point. I do know that it is obviously authentic and shows nice use with great patination. It is made from a beautiful piece of Burlington chert that has been wonderfully river stained in the Osage River. There is no modern damage. This is a really nice Sedalia point and it will make an excellent addition to any authentic collection. Size 3.25 inches in length. A48
