Artifacts Museum - Flint : Early Archaic
The Early Archaic Period ( as it exists in Missouri ) is generally excepted to be between 10,000 B.P. - 7,000 B.P. This tradition started with the extinction of the megafauna. New lithic technology was created to exploit the hunting of the smaller game. Many of the points made at this time were bevel resharpened and very finely made.
A killer Dovetail from Madison Co Illinois. This is in my personal collection. It is made from high grade Burlington.
This beautiful Allen point came from St Clair Co Illinois and is made from Cobden chert.

We picked up this huge first stage Dovetail at the 2018 Lake Ozark Show. It is Ex James Lenz and Ex Russ Hobson. It was a creek find in Howard County Missouri.
